My new found love: Art Zines! I am so surprised I have never heard of these before and I already know what I will do for my new project. I found out about them by looking at Design*Sponge’s “Sneak Peak” page. I stumbled on Kate  ‘s page and she was talking about Zines on a Youtube video featured.

I was so inspired, I did a little more digging and found that Zines can be made about basically anything. There are zines for art, writing, poetry, found items, photography, or whatever is on your mind. Here are a couple of zines found on Etsy that really caught my eye:

I was first attracted to this book because of the cover. It was simple and clean, yet different than the surrounding covers. So, I continued my exploration of my new find. It was a simple and quick read full of loads of helpful information. For anyone who is looking to start a new company, do contract work, or promote your exsisting works this book is for you! The amount of information is presneted in a memorable and understandable way for anyone. It definitely seems like a deal for the quality of the content provided. I learned to think in a more business-minded way as opposed to keeping with my “artist” point of view. It also touches on the topic of pricing which I had no idea how to even begin pricing my work. After reading this book I am so much more confident about how I go about pricing my work and not to be shy about it. Because let’s face it, we all want to do something we love. And for all of us who are passionate about art and design, this book can help to make sure you can continue to do the things you love and get paid for it.
