A Variety of Urban Art and Design

[ARTWORK FOR YOUR HOME]

I was sitting in my apartment and noticed that one of the walls was a little too bare compared to the rest of the walls. I really didn’t have the money to buy anything new. Regardless, it is hard enough to even find something to match everything else that I had since most of my decorations I make myself. I found some picture frames under my bed that I had bought at a dollar store.

I flipped the generic, sample picture from the frame around and used the blank backside as my canvas. It was perfect because I didn’t have to find any paper and it was already the correct size! Alot of our decorations are black and white with touches and glimpses of red for some color. For these two “sketch paintings” (as I like to call them since they are done so quickly) I only used black paint for one and added a little red but mainly black for the second one.

For the top sketch painting, I did a messy checkerboard with a couple of splatter drops. The second painting I did mainly spaltter drops with a messy square in the middle. I also dropped in some red splatters for more color. These took a total of 15 minutes for both paintings. I just used the resources I had to transform a boring wall into a trendy, original corner that makes my home much more interesting.

Decorating your home doesn’t have to take a long time or a lot of money. Just use the things you have a go with what you’ve got as far as style goes. Go for it and don’t be afraid to go crazy!
